The house is stunning, we loved every minute. Its fully equipped to cater for 8 guests, the house was immaculate, the beds and bedding was clean and super comfy, the was more the enough wood for the fire place, we saw whales throughout our stay.

The view from Bruce's home is spectacular and everything inside is first class. Whether you want to spend a leisure and restful holiday or perhaps connect with your office regular ...you have all the facilities to do so . Another plus factor is that corresponding with Bruce is easy as he is professional and respond promptly . A pleasant and unique experience await anyone fortunate enough to secure this spectacular home . We were 4 mature couples and the only negative was that we had to leave to go home.

The pictures don’t do this place justice. An amazing place and we will always return. Leigh met us at check in and she was very kind and professional. Later when my mom got ill she assisted in getting paramedics to the property who took care of my mom and we will always be thankful for that. The fireplace and underfloor heating is an absolute blessing in the winter. The cleaning lady was always smiling and a pleasure. When you stay here please book her service as she will give the best service. Skip all other places and book this place

We had a great weekend in the beautiful Whale House. The location is absolutely perfect and the views - from all the bedrooms, lounge, diningroom and deck - to die for. De Kelders is a tranquil little town that is close to quaint Stanford and busier Gansbaai. The house is amazingly well equipped (think international adaptors, a gym, a yoga mat and even a laptop for guests). The deck, with a pool overlooking the bay - was my favorite spot. Highly recommended - I can't wait to go back! And thanks for the gift basket Bruce!

This house is a wonderfully laid out & comfortable place to stay. We went in the beginning of winter & when it’s sunny & clear the sun that streams in & the view are first class. The host’s small touches are very unexpected & gracious & they have put a lot of thought into making your stay as comfortable as possible. All of this made for a wonderful long weekend away from the city , thank you!

You can only love this place watching the whales at breakfast or lunch time from the terrasse is something you will remember... do not hesitate!

Whale huys is the ideal place if you are longing for some much-needed rest and relaxation. The house is beautifully situated close to the water’s edge, which means the sounds of the waves have a calming effect, without being intrusive. The house lacks for nothing and it’s big enough for 6-8 people, without being in each other’s way. Bruce is a very attentive host, quick to respond and gave us lots of information about things to do in the area. The check in process with Leigh was very pleasant and efficient. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great stay by the seaside.

Bruce’s Place was incredible. It was absolutely breathtaking. Not even 5minutes in we saw whales from the verandah. The house is huge and spacious with so much to explore out the back gate. The view was amazing, you didn’t want to leave it was that nice. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Bruce's house is incredible. You will not find more beautiful and mesmerising views easily. The house is exceptionally well-equipped, and the bedrooms beautifully appointed with stylish decor items, quality linens and towels. On arrival, we were met by the friendly Leigh who welcomed us with a thoughtful array of small gifts and fresh flowers. The kitchen has all the equipment you might need if you are foodies like us! If you just want to relax, curl up on the couch and enjoy the view with a glass of local vino in hand.

We had a fabulous few days at Whale Huys - with great weather, amazing communication in the lead up, a beautiful welcome basket and whales frolicking just off the balcony for a whole day - incredible! The kitchen is really well prepared, the pool was brilliant, the kids loved it and so did the adults. Would recommend it thoroughly

Beautifully appointed home with everything you need. Perfectly positioned right on the rocks, offering spectacular views. Sliding doors open wide to bring the outside in, and when the Cape weather turns, beautiful and cosy with the fireplace. We were a group of 8 and the house is large enough for everyone to find their comfort spot in a group or for some quiet time.
A wonderful nature trail on your doorstep; the unspoilt "Plaat" where we spent many full days lapping up the sun, the vast beach and wild waves. Pick fresh mussels! Many interesting areas around, wines farms and natures best!
The area is home to seals and dolphins and we were fortunate to see whales as well. Bruce the home owner was very accommodating with any of our requests and a pleasure to deal with. We booked for peak season 18 months in advance and enjoyed a fabulous memorable 16 night holiday! We can't wait to go back again.

Had a wonderful stay at Whale Huys. This is a truly a stunning home, exactly as described. The view is simply amazing!! Bruce responded promptly to all our questions. Welcome basket was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Would definitely recommend! Our stay was perfect, just wish it could have been longer.

This was our second stay in Whale Huys and we enjoyed it again, so see my more detailed review from 2015 - there is nothing more to add, beside the fact that the railing of the terrace is fixed now. Communication with Bruce went smooth, the terrace is as beautiful as before and we had a great time.

This is the most amazing place to stay. The house is gorgeous and we were greeted with a large basket of wine and other goodies, and plenty of herbs and other kitchen necessities - not always the case in air bnb. But it is the position of this house right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the whale sanctuary of Walker Bay that is so outstanding. Within a minute of walking into the house we were spotting southern right whales right out in front and it is so close you can hear them breath and it is an enchanting sight to see whales and their babies so close and to observe all the different behaviours from every room in the house. There is a track just below the house through the flowering fynbos vegetation with amazing rock formations and a paradise for bird watchers as well as whale watching. We needed to stay longer. This place is paradise.
